Philips Wake-up Light HF3520 Review

It’s important to note that I am not a morning person. In researching ways to make getting up easier and more enjoyable, I came across the idea of wake-up lights. After reading various reviews, I settled on the Philips Wake-up Light HF3520. The verdict: After having it a month, while it’s not made me an earlier riser, it has made getting up easier (especially in the darker months).

The Philips Wake-up Light simulates the color of the morning light and gradually increases within 30 minutes from soft dawn reds through warm orange to bright yellow light. The light is accompanied by either nature sounds or the radio and gets louder as your wake-up time approaches. There are five natural sounds you can choose from: Bird Song, Birds in the forest, Zen Garden, Gentle Piano and Seaside Sound. A slight tap anywhere on the Wake-up light, sets the snooze mode. After 9 minutes the sound will gently start playing again.

The other feature that I find myself using is the sleep setting that dims the light for a time period you specify to help you drift off to sleep.

Pros:

  • Easy to Use
  • Sunrise/Sunset
  • Nice Wake-up Sounds
  • Looks Good

Cons:

  • High Price
