Rant!

Its time for a rant.

Today my rant is about children. Well societies take on them and the raising of them. Almost every time I hear about some violent crime or some more taboo crime I always hear "its near a school, we have got to protect our children". This gets me to think. All the things that we 'protect' our children from are causations of society. These things they need to learn from, know about and in a sense witness these 'things' so that they can fully understand the scope of why 'said thing' was wrong.

Ever think that 'protecting' them from these horrible 'things' might also lead to problems. There is a point when one must accept society and move forward through it. And its kinda hard to do that when one never knows right from wrong under our society. Perhaps 'I am the sum of my experiences' is correct after all.

Parents must accept that these things have happened and do happen and will always happen. They must adapt and teach there children about morality and right and wrong. But perhaps that is the problem. It all comes down to responsibility and no one seems to one to take any of it.

Interesting thought. I shall have to meditate on this matter further. But for right now, off the cuff, I agree.

I agree that they need to witness these things to learn from them, but that doesn't mean i'm going to set back and allow shootings near my child or allow anyone to threaten his safety. :)
